The H-Town Sneaker Summit is “the biggest in the country,” where you can find the latest — and rarest shoes available. The Collective Status team packed up and headed to Houston with our shoe collection. Bun B had a booth next door and came by to connect and show us love; he is pictured here with Scotty, Manager of our Dallas location. Bun B was showing the soon-to-be released, Air Jordan “Retro” Pantone. They will be part of the Jordan Ultimate Gift of Flight Pack, all with a light blue lineup.
Other Houston artists came by, including Paul Wall (see pic), Doughbeezy, Killa Kyleon, and Slim Thug, KabThaDon, LE$ and more.
For those of you who haven’t been to the summit, it’s lined wall to wall with high level shoe vendor booths from all over the country, with those seeking to sell or trade shoes, children come up to you and try to fit you right on the spot, asking “what’s your size,” and sneaker collectors walking by with shoes held in the air, trying to market on-the-spot.
Adam, our Internet Fulfillment Specialist, was wearing El Cappy 1 of 1, “Captavis” Jordan 6 and had so many people taking pics of them for instagram shares. The shoes are designed to look like the “drank”, Activist. The sides of the shoes are purposely meant to look like styrofoam. The laces are purple, with a bottle on the laces near the toe box. The shoes are “dripping” purple on the back. El Cappy, for those who don’t already know him, he’s a young, highly sought after shoe artist out of Detroit who creates original shoe designs. We were blessed to have him work out of our store in Austin this past year. He has the most original and freshest designs available. A true, self-taught, incredibly talented artist and great friend.
